Stanislav Lyapunov was born in 1947 in Harkov, the Ukraine and graduated from the Belorussian Polytechnical Institute.
He began his professional career as a factory mechanic, rising to the post of Director General of an important Russian holding that brings together leading Russian electrotechnial companies as well as manufacturers of actuators, controllers and instrumentation products.
Today Mr. Lyapunov is one of the leading Russian experts in corporate management. He authored a project on the socially responsible enterprise restructuring that is recommended as a model for Eastern and Central Europe by the World Labor Organization.
Mr. Lyapunovs specialty is turn-around and crisis management. He is directly responsible for the reanimation of a number of enterprises ranging from Ministry of Sciences departments to instrumentation product manufacturers. In 1998 he headed Cheboksarys manufacturer Prompribor which at that time was filing for bankruptcy. He not only saved the company, but took it to a leadership position in Russia.
In 2000, with a goal of helping Russian electrotechnical industry back to its former glory and its development as a whole, Mr. Lyapunov became the Director General of Electroprominvest, now known as Russian Electrotechnology.
He is the author of more than 70 scientific publications.
